Sony for Emotional Gaming??!!
Sony has just filed a patent for a device that will detect the emotion of a user. It is believed the device may be for the PS3.
Basically, it’s a camera and a microphone that can detect your facial movements and can pick up sounds such as laughter and yawning. It can also pick up movements such as celebrations like high-fives or stretching whilst yawning.
This information will then be uploaded to a network.
Honestly, I can’t see where Sony are going with this. Perhaps some kind of emotional gaming? If you’re sad it will make your happy, if your under-challanged it will up the stakes and if your bored – it will beg you not to buy a 360.
It’s a good idea and personally I’m glad that Sony are still making patents and showing their have big plans for the future.
