PS3 Slimline Announced : But why?
Okay, so Sony have just announced their new PS3 Slim in Germany. Big news I guess. It’s a tech philosophy that has been around for years; make it smaller, cuter and much more prone to over-heating and they’ll fly off the shelves. But I’m not too sure about this one.
I mean, the PS3 already had everything going for it and the days of sliming down stationary consoles should be left in the past, in the PS2 era. Why would they even bother to slim it down? It won’t affect my choice of console and definitely doesn’t make it look much better.
It seems as though the just got sum chunky lad to sit on it a PS3 and then sprayed it matt black. Personally, I much preferred that bulging shape of the PS3 and the shiny exterior – it made it different from the 360.
There is one or two new features added in such as a WiFi reciever. But there is also some things lacking such as the inability to stand it upright (not to worry, Sony will kindly provide you with a stand to do this – once you fork out $24).
Here are some pictures of the PS3 on a diet so you can make up your mind:

Why? It’s cheaper to produce. And WiFi is not new — it’s always been there.
Wow, did you read anything about the new one before trying to slam it?
The old one had Wifi Too, The Slim can stand on its own, they put in a new cooling system and a Smaller Cell chip(65nm-45nm). It needs less power and is quieter then the old one. And smaller to boot. I’d say its a pretty good upgrade.
Lets try reading about something before writing about it since everything you said about the new one is wrong except that you think that its ugly. Plus its cheaper, and who can argue with that.
Not a bad review, but a couple of edits:
The slimmer PS3 is painted matte black, not matt black.
I think that the original PS3 already had a WiFi reciever.
The figure of speech you were looking for with respect to the 24 dollar stand is either “fork over” or “shell out” but not “fork out” or “shell over”
Still though, keep up the good work and make sure to read plenty of other writers’ work. Typos and other editing mistakes make a poor first impression and distract from your otherwise decent content.
Indeed, the PS3 can can stand by itself, so long as you buy a stand for $24.
Plus, figures of speech tend to change depending on location (Ireland).
