Final Fantasy XIV MMORPG Coming in 2010

Square Enix is no doubt forecasting a very prosperous year with its flagship series, Final Fantasy.  Two titles are scheduled to be released with the first, Final Fantasy XIII, for the PS3 in March, followed by the release of Final Fantasy XIV later in the year for both PS3 and PC. Final Fantasy XIII h as made a huge splash in the market with audiences considering it one of the more highly anticipated games for the PS3 thus far.

Still, little has been shared about Final Fantasy XIV, until now. Those of you familiar with Final Fantasy XI will remember the MMORPG style of creating your character to explore the lands of Vana’diel. It was a critical success drawing huge audiences into the world in the first Final Fantasy to go online. The game boasted an average between 200,000 and 300,000 gamers daily in 2006.

Now with Final Fantasy XIV on the horizon, the next chapter of Final Fantasy’s online endeavors is sure to be received with much fanfare. This time the game takes place in the world of Eorzea with a massive graphics upgrade and much more expansive environment allowing for more singular activities as opposed to the heavy group based activities that plauged Final Fantasy XI. It appears thus far that Final Fantasy XIV is a very well balanced game introducing a new collection of races to explore the land.

The is slated for a 2010 release but there are no details on an exact date. Nevertheless, for Final Fantasy fans everywhere, this year is going to be a great year. Square Enix undoubtedly will be prepared with this release, ensuring that the mistakes that marred Final Fantasy XI’s release, shortage of hard drives and network adapter for the PS2, will not occur this go around.

Be on the look out as more details are released.
