Finally, Duke Nukem Forever is here and available on the Xbox 360, PC and PS3.

Dice has been very keen to push that the main platform for Battlefield 3 is the PC, most notably 64 player support (as opposed to only 24 for consoles). DICE executive producer Patrick Bach responded to a question regarding PC versus consoles, and it was clear that Bach and DICE are in favor on PCs at this point.

Asked specifically whether he feels if consoles are holding PC gaming back, Bach replied “Yes, Absolutely”, and added “That’s the biggest problem we have today”. He went on, saying that most games are made for the lowest common denominator (i.e. consoles), and that console games are generally ported to the PC with some higher resolution textures. Bach stressed that DICE is doing the opposite with Battlefield 3 — the PC version is the lead version and the console versions will be scaled down, as opposed to console version being scaled up to the PC.

World of Warcraft has millions of players worldwide, but this has to be a first. Someone has actually played WOW and leveled up to 85 without killing a single unit. You can see the character sheet here.

How did this happen? With a huge amount of time, exploration, gathering and crafting!

The player, who goes by the name of “Everbloom”, also intended not to complete a single quest over the course of what I’m going to call “the ordeal”, but she was apparently awarded one “accidentally” when she opened a letter from an NPC.

This all took a total of four months, but the player must not have had a life at all for those four months.

It seems as though Dragon Age II is killling it on Xbox 360 compared to other consoles. More than half of Dragon Age II sales in the UK are on the Xbox 360 console. It seems as though Xbox 360 sales are outpacing PS3 sales of Dragon Age II which only has around 22  percent of the total sales.

At GDC 2011 (Game Developer Conference) Team Meat have announced they have sold more than 400,000 copies of Super Meat Boy on Xbox Live Arcade and Steam. Super Meat Boy received a huge amount of time promoted on the Xbox Live Arcade and it seems to have paid off nicely for the team.

Super Meat Boy is a great platformer that is amazingly challenging, so its little surprise to me that they had outstanding sales.

Dustin Browder has revealed that the Heart of the Swarm expansion for Starcraft 2 will have its own ladder for any player upgrading to the expansion.

I find this a little strange, because when all three games for Starcraft 2 have been released there will be three seperate ladders. This all seems a little pointless considering that the first Starcraft 2 ladder will never be used again. I always thought the aim of the ladder is to have the best players in the world playing in one place at a time!

Dustin also stated that there are plans to release a bunch of new maps for the multiplayer experience that will address a lot of issues that fans have raised with the current map pool. These maps, he said, will hopefully be added within the next few weeks.

It has been revealed that Portal 2 will be playable not just on the PC version, but on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions as well.

You’ll only be able to actually create these mods on a PC, Faliszek told NowGamer, but “the content that comes out is agnostic, and so we will be seeing that on all the platforms. Depending on the platform you’re on I should say, will depend on how we’re delivering it.”

PS3 will use Steamworks, and the PC will presumably use the usual mod portals, with installations made through Steam. No word on how it’ll work for the 360 yet.

Faliszek added: “There’s just a lot of value in engaging the community because they’re smart, they’re thinking of really cool things and we want to be able to have everyone share that.”
