High Tinker Mekkatorque, betrayed by Mekgineer Thermaplugg and forced to flee the irradiated city of Gnomeregan with the few of his fellow gnomes who managed to survive, is preparing to reclaim his once glorious city. Meanwhile, in distant Durotar, Vol’jin of the Darkspear trolls is determined to exact revenge upon the witch doctor Zalazane for dividing the Darkspears and seizing the land bestowed to them by Thrall: the Echo Isles. And so it is, as revealed by the Blizzard announcement regarding the upcoming in game events to retake the homelands of Azeroth’s displaced races.

Nethaera, a blue over at the Blizz forums, announced the the information earlier this week, which details the questlines that will be part of the Cataclysm expansion launch.

Gnome and Troll players have long been in exile, so it’s definitely a cool story arc for Blizzard to be taking in game, not to mention that the company has a pretty good track record of pulling off awesome world events.
