Activision announced that they are working on a video game version of popular tv show Wipeout! The show currently airs in different countries with their own local versions, but overall the same obstacle course is used.

On the show, contestants are tasked with navigating ridiculously complex and ludicrously impossible obstacle courses to entertain a television audience. In the game, users will be able to face off against the same obstacles that appear on the show, but do so in four player competitive play. You will be able to taunt your opponents in the game, and best of all, you can throw stuff at them to derail their attempts at Wipeout! glory.

Wipeout! for the DS and Wii is set to release in the hottest months of the year to coincide with the beginning of the show’s third season.
