While we were a little bummed to learn that the only group of survivors playable in the upcoming Left 4 Dead 2 crossover DLC “The Passing” would be the newer team, Valve’s Chet Faliszek lifted our spirits last night at X10, when he revealed that we’ll be seeing much more of the original foursome. Here’s a portion of the interview we conducted with Chet.

We raise a lot of questions about what’s going on with the Left 4 Dead 1 guys, and that’s because we have the Left 4 Dead 2 DLC coming out–The Passing–and then we’re going to have a Left 4 Dead 1 comic book come out by Mike Oeming, who’s done “Powers” and works at Valve now. That’s going to set up something with the Left 4 Dead 1 characters, and then we’re going to have Left 4 Dead 1 DLC come out, and that’s going to be what happened to the Left 4 Dead survivors right before they met the Left 4 Dead 2 survivors.
