UK publisher Codemasters has cancelled action title Heist, CVG can reveal.

Criminal action title Heist was developed by inXile Entertainment and was set to be published for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Its story was set in San Francisco, California, circa 1969.

The decision comes after a stellar six months for Codemasters, with games such as Ashes Cricket 2009, DIRT 2, Operation Flashpoint 2 and F1 (Wii and PSP) giving it an enviable Metacritic average in 2009.

“After a much extended development period, Heist has been terminated as a project and removed from our release schedule,” a Codemasters spokesperson told CVG.

“Codemasters is focusing its future portfolio on high quality titles that will, in the majority, be developed and produced by our internal studios.”
