Resident Evil Creator Releases Teaser for Next Project
Remember the nights when you played Resident Evil in the dark, while you were the only one in the house and certain moments just freaked you out. You realized that playing with the lights on was probably the best answer to ease some of that anxiety the game created, but in a good way. The creator Shinji Mikami, was able to dream up a game that was not just fun and innovative, but set the milestone for the survival-horror franchise.
So what has he been up to?
The name of the game is Vanquish, and teaser footage has just been released. We don’t know a whole lot about the game, but what is for certain is that the game is sure to be one of those games that you just can’t put down. From what we can tell of the game, it involves some form of attack on U.S. soil. It appears to be a satellite attack that destroys much of San Francisco. While the President is speaking the footage shows a man suiting up in armor, preparing for some time of engagement. Camera pans out and we’re in space where the suited man in armor is fighting robots and other mechanical devices.
Is this man attacking man? Is this an otherworldly force? Right now it’s unknown, but the footage fails to show any type of in-game footage. Many of those commenting are comparing the game to a Halo-like storyline and are complaining due to lack of originality. I think it’s unfair to judge the game so quickly as this is simply a teaser. No word on platforms, no word on release date, but keep an eye on this game as it’s sure to be one that gamers the world over will be keeping an eye on.
