Sony’s Motion Gaming Back in Motion

PS3 27 August 2009 | 0 Comments | 5 views

sonySince Sony and Nintendo had their little school-yard fight when the Wii came out over the whole motion-gaming concept, not much has really taken place on Sony’s front. At the most we’ve heard some squeaks and rumours about their ‘wands’ that will allow motion gaming.

Now, really the first time in aeons bosses are starting to talk about the product itself and how users may go about using it. A top Sony Worldwide boss has said that players will not be forced to buy two controllers at once as games that support the upcoming technology will have large single player modes. So you can dip your toe in before you run out and buy the whole kit!

I think it’s good that Sony are now making noticeable headway with their product, but that’s only because I’m a gamer and will give anything a try before tossing it in either the ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ pile. But for Sony, it could all go belly up. They’ll be relying on their existing fans to take up the whole motion idea. For the general population (which is where much of this new social gaming industry’s profit comes from) won’t necessarily want to buy a new set of gadgets that do the same job as the Wii.

Is there really enough room for another pile of console perishables that get used twice a month?
