The Future is… Pokémon?!?

I was tempted to do the this article twice, it would be very easy to do. I could subsitute some words for different words, change the border colour round the video maybe change the title. I could do this, but i won’t. This is mainly because it would be completly pointless and partly because i wouldn’t get away with it.  For shame.

I’m sure it hasn’t escaped any ones notice that Nintendo have  been releasing the same game again and again for almost ten years now. Not only that but they do it in pairs. Yes I know there are different Pokémon in each game and there are minor gameplay/story tweaks but still look past the dual screen, your fancy clock and strip down some of the newer Poké powers and what you have there is the same game they released back in the late 90s. So I don’t know how excited I should be at the announcement that Pokémon Gold & Silver are getting a 2010 face lift on the DS.

There is something about that year as well, 2010, Twenty-ten, that’s the future. We should have moon bases, automated robots doing chores for us and holographics. Can’t you see it now, it’s the future we’ve always envisioned. Every is shiny and we’ll have world peace, a perfect utopia with…with Pokémon?!? Am the only sane man left? Where has my future gone? Okay nevermind, Pokémon then…

Well Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver will finally be compatable with DS generation of Pokémon game. So unless they invent more pokémon, Which wouldn’t surprise me in the least, you will finally be able to collect them all. That is of course if you also have access to the Pokémon Tournements which tend to be held in japan.

There are said to be a bunch of new stuff. Along with the updated graphics and gameplay mechanics you’ll be able to have one lucky pokémon follow you around much in the same vein as Pokémon Yellow as well as “a host of surprises”. Still I’m not entirely convinced.

What i do know that a host of children and unashamed adults will lap this game up, possibly these are the same people who queue up for harry potter films.  Personally im not sure why Nintendo don’t Give in and make a Massively Multiplayer Pokémon game, hell it might even make a dent in the World of Warcraft user base, though i doubt it.
